We have an exciting opportunity in the State-wide Network Services team for a Senior Systems Officer.

Reporting into Capability Manager in the Datacentre Infrastructure Product Team you will enjoy working in an Agile team within a constructive, collaborative and supportive culture. You will provide State-wide Network services including but not limited to customer consultation, network design, level 2 and 3 support and implementation of new and existing services and infrastructure. This position provides advance technical knowledge of the infrastructure and services deployed within eHealth NSW network. You will have full access to a range of training and talent programs that eHealth NSW has to offer.

Computer Manager Grade 2, commencing salary from $124,152 per annum plus super and annual leave loading

What you will do

As an integral member of the State-wide Network Services team, you will:

  • Work within a highly engaging and dynamic environment 
  • Work on Campus Access, Wide Area Network and Data Centre Technologies
  • Pick new and emerging technologies
  • Engage with Statewide customers, Stakeholders and vendors
  • Design, implement and on-going BAU support
  • Supporting statewide network infrastructure 24x7x365 with rostered on-call duties

About you

The skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for in you include:

Essential to this role:

  • WiFi - Strong understanding of WiFi technologies, inc. Cisco AireOS, IOX-XE, HPE/Aruba – AOS and Juniper Mist Edge Appliance
  • Authentication, Authorization, Network Access Control, inc. Cisco ISE, HPE and Aruba Clearpass
  • Location & Hyper-location Services. - Cisco CMX/Spaces
  • Software Defined Access - Cisco DNA Catalyst centre
  • Identity & Access Management
  • NTP Stratum – Sound understanding of NTP protocol & underlay infrastructure – Linux Platform
  • Campus Switching – Cisco, HPE, Juniper platform – Troubleshoot and resolve layer 2/3 switching issues. Collaborate on integrating advanced switching protocols and programmability features
  • DNS - Strong understanding and experience in DNS configuration and troubleshooting
  • Proxy - Understanding of reversed and forwarded proxy inc, SSE and Zscaler

Desired for this role:

  • Load Balancing - understanding of load balancers inc. F5 Platform
  • Automation and orchestration - Sound understanding of automation, script and programming languages inc. GitHub, Jenkins, Python, Ansible, NDFC, NDI, NSO, CNC
  • Network Monitoring Tools Inc. Aruba – Airwave, UXI, Solarwind and Splunk
  • Firewall - Understanding and hands on experience with firewall technologies inc. FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA
  • EVPN - Understanding and hands on experience with Ethernet Virtual Private Network
  • Vx-LAN - Understanding of Vx-LAN and its use cases
  • Cisco Nexus 5K,9K - Understanding and hands on experience with network architectures, routing, switching and associated technologies and appliances including network security firewalls, routers and switches.
  • Remote access - Strong understanding and experience in RAS configuration and troubleshooting - F5 BIG-IP
