What you'll be doing
Join our dynamic team delivering patient-centred speech pathology care across WSLHD. This rewarding role offers varied clinical experiences, professional development, and the chance to make a real impact. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Providing evidence-based speech and swallowing therapy
  • Delivering care in homes, onsite, and via telehealth
  • Supporting staff through education, supervision and mentoring
  • Contributing to service planning, reviews and reporting
  • Managing diverse caseloads across multiple locations

An e-list will be created for ongoing recruitment of senior acute generalist Speech Pathologists at BMDH, considering both full-time and part-time applicants.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Registration: Eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia

Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia; with advanced competency and experience demonstrated in the management of adults with acquired swallowing disorders, and communication impairments.
  2. Actively practices the principles of Evidence Based Practice and engages in professional development for relevant clinical areas with strong experience in quality management or research.
  3. High-level written and oral communication skills, computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and database.
  4. Prior experience in the provision of clinical supervision and training of staff and/or students and an understanding of service co-ordination, evaluation, planning and development .
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with consumers, families and carers in a time of high levels of family stress.
  6. Proven advanced communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. .
  7. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia and willing to use for work purposes.
