About the Role
You will be based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
This position sits within the RPAH Critical Care Social Work team and provides the primary social work response to our busy emergency department. Interested applicants should be able to provide a high standard of clinical service to patients, their families and carers with circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of supporting people in distress, trauma responses, child protection and situations involving domestic and family violence.
Interested applicants should be mindful that the position involves exposure to distressing situations at times. The successful candidate will receive support within their clinical team and also receive regular clinical supervision.

Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
- Ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as per of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff and students.
- Holds a current NSW Driver Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
