Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit. 

In conjunction with the Chief Radiographer and Director of Radiology, the Senior Radiographer will manage the MRI service and discharge the associated administrative duties.
 
The successful incumbent will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and have extensive clinical experience in the specified modality. The Section Senior has proven ability to work independently, expertly performing complex and routine procedures at the direction of the Supervising Radiologist.

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Degree in Medical Radiation Science with Post graduate qualification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner and a current I14 Radiation Licence from the NSW EPA.
  2. Demonstrated high level of knowledge and clinical expertise in MRI with the ability to perform a full range of complex examinations.
  3. Experience and proven ability to fully manage all aspects of a sectional modality. This will include the ability to establish workflows and procedures to safely maximise patient throughput.
  4. Demonstrated ability to supervise, instruct and mentor other MRSs, undergraduates and other health professionals
  5. Demonstrated leadership qualities, communication and interpersonal skills to supervise teams and work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  6. Demonstrated well developed problem solving and clinical reasoning skills.
  7. Experience in creating and maintaining quality assurance and audit systems to ensure accurate documentation on clinical and non-clinical data.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
