 Senior Project Officer - Low Value Care ICU Project

We are looking for someone who can: 

  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, resource coordination, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, milestone tracking, and reporting to ensure timely and successful delivery of innovation strategies.
  • Develop project plans, reports, discussion papers, ethics submissions, expression of interest and any related correspondence required.
  • Analyse key information and produce high-quality professional documents, including drafting, editing, and finalising reports, briefs, presentations, complex correspondence, and responses required for the MRFF grant.

What you will be doing  

The Senior Project Officer will lead and support the development and implementation of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant ‘Implementing Generalisable Strategies for Scaling Down Low Value Care’ targeting diagnostic testing with the chief investigators. The project is focused on testing different strategies for reducing the provision of routine low value diagnostic testing and imaging in NSW intensive care units. This position will work between ACI and The University of Sydney to coordinate this project. Working closely with The University of Sydney, Intensive Care NSW Network Manager, Intensive Care NSW Clinical Director, Intensive Care NSW team, ACI streams, directorates, chief investigators and key stakeholders. The Senior Project Officer will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of the improvement initiatives and the grant deliverables.

Employment details 

Employment Type: Full Time - Exempt (up to December 2027) 
Position Classification: Health Manager Level 3
Remuneration: $127,150.00 – $144,444.00 per annum excluding Superannuation
Hours Per Week: 40 (38 standard + 2hrs toward ADO)

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health discipline with demonstrated experience in a management or a leadership role.
  2. Strong understanding of contemporary issues, challenges and directions facing NSW intensive care services.
  3. Demonstrated experience in project management and the implementation of projects, frameworks and/or initiatives.
  4. Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative approach, and maintain strong positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
