 Senior Policy Officer x3

Role 1: Senior Policy Officer, Trans and Gender Diverse, Community Care and Priority Populations, Health and Social Policy Branch.

  • Full Time, Temporary (up to 30 June 2026)
  • 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment  


What you'll be doing
This role will sit within the Priority Populations team, supporting implementation of a range of activities under the NSW LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy. In particular, the role will support the Strategic Priority 2 under the Strategy, responding to the health needs of transgender and gender diverse people in NSW. The Senior Policy Officer will also be responsible for providing advice and support to the Health and Social Policy Branch in relation to health and wellbeing issues for LGBTIQ+ populations.

Role 2: Senior Policy Officer, Health Care Interpreter Service, Community Care and Priority Populations, Health and Social Policy Branch

  • Full Time, Temporary (up to 21 January 2028)
  • 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment


What you'll be doing
The Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for leading the response to the Review of the NSW Health Care Interpreter Services. The Senior Policy Officer will also provide advice and support to the Health and Social Policy Branch in relation to multicultural and refugee health issues.

Role 3: Senior Policy Officer, Primary Care and Women’s health, Community Care and Priority Populations, Health and Social Policy Branch

  • Full Time, Temporary (up to 5 September 2026)
  • 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment


What you'll be doing
This Senior Policy Officer will lead and support community health, primary care and women’s health projects and programs. The role involves policy and program development, monitoring and evaluation in these health policy areas. Contract management and stakeholder engagement working with internal and external partners are key elements of this role. The role also involves secretariat functions, other governance processes, ministerial responses and briefings.

, salary from $125,693 - $138,510 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading)


About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in the area of health and social policy. Relevant tertiary qualifications and management experience would be highly regarded.  
  • Significant experience in developing, analysing, implementing and evaluating policy and other projects in a statewide, multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy and program/project areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic change management projects.
