Senior Podiatrist

Essential Criteria

Registration: Current Registration ad a Podiatrist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ( AHPRA) 
Qualifications recognised for registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrative high level of clinical expertise and knowledge in the area of wound management autonomously or in an interdisciplinary setting, with minimum direct clinical supervision, in the assessment and management of patients with complex wounds, according to established best practice guidelines.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and or experience in the use of computerised gait analysis; including interpretation analysis of pressure data, the efficacy of offloading interventions, including the prescription and manufacture of computer assisted design orthoses.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of current evidence based guidelines and research and the ability to critically appraise peer review papers in relation to wound management.
4. Demonstrated experience in participating in clinical trials; protocols, data collection and analysis in accordance with NSW Health Policies.
5. Demonstrated experience in prescribing offloading and in the practice of applying a Total Contact Cast.
6. Demonstrated evidence of ongoing professional development and presentation of lectures to peers, other health professionals and patients.
7. Demonstrated ability of evaluating, planning, implementing, review and reporting of services, including quality improvement activities.
8. Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision of podiatrists, podiatry students, technical and support staff within the context of a complex clinical and professional environment, including conducting performance appraisals.
