About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. This Senior Hospital Scientist position in the Sleep Investigation Unit will work together with other hospital scientists, nursing staff and technicians in conducting a comprehensive range of sleep investigations appropriate to the diagnosis and management of patients with sleep disorders. This position is responsible for ensuring quality control for all technical equipment, analysis methods & sleep study procedures in the department, and for providing a strong teaching element in sleep and respiratory physiology and measurement.

Ideal Candidate
- Holds a science or applied science degree from an approved university requiring three years of full time study or an equivalent qualification. A post-graduate degree in science, respiratory science or physiology is desirable but not essential.
- Registered or registry eligible for the Board of Polysomongraphic Technologist qualification – Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT); or Accredited Clinical Physiologist (sleep); or equivalent.
- Ability to analyse sleep studies, be familiar with Nox, Alice and Compumedics sleep systems, and have advanced troubleshooting and technical ability in polysomnography.
