Senior Health Education Officer Non-Graduate - $93,774 - $97,316 per annum
Senior Health Education Officer Graduate - $114,173.00 - $123,335.00 per annum

About Us

NBMLHD’s Population Health Division is responsible for addressing primary and secondary disease prevention within the local community through Health Promotion, HIV and Related Programs Multicultural Health. Our work is delivered through individual service delivery, Population level health promotion programs and capacity building initiates to members of priority populations on priority issues.
The Centre of Population Health is seeking to engage a Senior Cross Cultural Development Officer to join its Multicultural Health Unit. This position is responsible for working in partnership with health services to identify and implementing strategies and initiatives for the ongoing improvement and accessibility of health services for patients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds in clinical and community health settings.
The successful incumbent will aim to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with CALD communities, government, and non-government organisations in order to build capacity and health literacy of the CALD populations. Key duties will include day-to-day management of the Mental Wellbeing Health Promotion Officer and providing leadership and guidance on activities and initiatives to improve the wellbeing of the residents in the Nepean Blue Mountains region.

What you will bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as health promotion, population health, or education and/or equivalent demonstrated experience, including experience working with CALD and/or refugee populations.
- Detailed knowledge of health and settlement needs of new and emerging, refugee and hard to reach communities and experience in working within multicultural health settings implementing access and equity programs in clinical or community health care.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation, communication and motivational skills that demonstrate an ability to support change in resistant environments.
- Demonstrated high-level experience in policy development, implementation, analysis and review, understanding of relevant multicultural policies and experience in developing and implementing policies and plans for a culturally diverse society and issues affecting CALD communities.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in program and strategic planning, implementation, critical analysis evaluation, project management, data management and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing and delivering Culturally Responsive training.
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
