About the role

The senior communication officer develops and oversees communication strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, marketing campaigns and events. This includes managing the campaign for the NSW Deployment program writing, preparing high level correspondence and compliance documentation, writing and editing content, and coordination of campaign communication activities. The position is pivotal to WOSU’s external and internal communications.
Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 per annum, plus Superannuation, with a 38 hour work week.
What you will do
- Support the development of the Deployment Program Communication Strategy to enhance awareness and promote the program.
- Manage statewide communication, stakeholder engagement, and marketing campaigns, ensuring compliance with NSW Government Advertising Protocols.
- Oversee communication channels and materials, including websites, social media, and printed materials, ensuring alignment with NSW Health and NSW Government policies.
- Write and edit various communication materials such as fact sheets, digital content, social media, and stakeholder correspondence.
- Collaborate with analysts and technical experts to produce complex reports and related materials.
- Develop and enhance the WOSU web presence, creating engaging content, and support WOSU's conference presence, including assisting with presentations.
- Stay informed on key health workforce issues in the public and government sectors.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Experienced in developing stakeholder engagement strategies and marketing campaigns, with knowledge of NSW Government protocols or the ability to quickly learn them.
- Strong written, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to write for various communication channels.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and develop innovative solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and government groups.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Degree qualification in communication, marketing public affairs or journalism, or equivalent experience.
