Where you'll be working
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH), Security Department

What you'll be doing
The Security Manager reports to the Manager, Corporate Services and oversees day to day management of all Security Services functions for the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service (HKHS), Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH), associated community health centers (5), and early childhood centers (3).    
This includes ensuring the delivery of a Security Service 24 hours per day, seven days a week for HKH and maintaining compliance with the Ministry of Health Protecting People and Property Policy.
The position is responsible for the general security functions - security management, parking management, risk management, legislative compliance, training requirements of staff, and managing security systems and projects across HKHS.


People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current NSW Security Licence Class 1A, Senior First Aid Certificate, current NSW Unrestricted Drivers Licence.
  2. Can you describe a time when you led a security team in a senior management capacity? Specifically, how did you ensure governance and compliance, manage operational workloads, and promote accountability among your staff? 
  3. Can you provide an example of a situation where you had to engage with multiple stakeholders to resolve a complex issue? How did you use your communication and negotiation skills, and what written materials (e.g., reports or briefs) did you prepare to support the process? 
  4. Can you describe your experience managing rostering practices in a security or similar operational environment? How have you ensured appropriate coverage, maintained compliance with industrial agreements, and achieved cost-effective resource allocation?
