What you'll be doing
The Security Manager reports to the Manager, Corporate Services and oversees day to day management of all Security Services functions for the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service (HKHS), Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH), associated community health centers (5), and early childhood centers (3).
This includes ensuring the delivery of a Security Service 24 hours per day, seven days a week for HKH and maintaining compliance with the Ministry of Health Protecting People and Property Policy.
The position is responsible for the general security functions - security management, parking management, risk management, legislative compliance, training requirements of staff, and managing security systems and projects across HKHS.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current NSW Security Licence Class 1A, Senior First Aid Certificate, current NSW Unrestricted Drivers Licence.
- Can you describe a time when you led a security team in a senior management capacity? Specifically, how did you ensure governance and compliance, manage operational workloads, and promote accountability among your staff?
- Can you provide an example of a situation where you had to engage with multiple stakeholders to resolve a complex issue? How did you use your communication and negotiation skills, and what written materials (e.g., reports or briefs) did you prepare to support the process?
- Can you describe your experience managing rostering practices in a security or similar operational environment? How have you ensured appropriate coverage, maintained compliance with industrial agreements, and achieved cost-effective resource allocation?
