About Your Role

This role will be part of a new program called Safe Wayz which coordinates an integrated response for children under the age of criminal responsibility (currently 10 years in NSW) with problematic or harmful sexual behaviours (PHSBs). Safe Wayz adopts a strength-based, family- focused and culturally centred trauma-informed approach to working with children and families to help prevent behaviours from escalating.

MLHD seeks to provide a culturally safe environment for people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal families and communities.

The role will hold a small clinical case load. The role will also coordinate cultural consultation to support non-Aboriginal clinicians working with Aboriginal children and families.

This role will work collaboratively with the Sexual Assault Clinical Lead, Sexual Assault Coordinator, Forensic Medical Lead, JCPRP Coordinator, Child Protection Counselling Service Clinical Lead and Priority Populations Program in the implementation and development of localised policy, procedures and strategic direction in line with NSW Health Responding to Sexual Assault (Adult and Child) Policies and Procedures.
