Position Classification & Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications
Social Worker or Occupational Therapist Level 4: $61.35 - $62.84 per hour
Senior Psychologist: $60.12 - $65.14 per hour
Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: $57.11 - $58.98 per hour

Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYF-MH) provides services to children, young people, and their families in the Nepean and Blue Mountains community where mental health issues are seriously impacting on their emotional wellbeing, relationships, and day to day functioning. CYF-MH offers mental health assessment, psychoeducation, clinical support, and specialist intervention services. CYF-MH is committed to working in partnership with families and the systems around them to provide person centred, trauma informed and recovery orientated care.

The successful incumbent will facilitate effective referral pathways for consumers experiencing mental health, drug health and psychosocial vulnerabilities during pregnancy and the perinatal period through, providing clinical leadership, governance, and strategic direction for the delivery of the Safe Start Process, facilitating inter-service and interagency collaboration and facilitating the interface between the NSW Health Ministry sponsor and Nepean Blue Mountains LHD regarding Safe Start implementation and processes.

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Post-Registration qualifications, professional registration/membership as follows: a) Social Worker – Minimum bachelor’s degree and eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers. b) Occupational Therapist - minimum bachelor’s degree and general registration with AHPRA. c) Senior Psychologist - full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and 9 years' experience. d) Nursing: Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public health organisation
  2. Extensive experience (no less than 3 years full time equivalent) working with adults, children and families presenting with issues involving mental health, drug health, family violence, child protection and/or other psychosocial difficulties.
  3. Demonstrated high level expertise and skill in child protection and mental health, with capacity to provide expert consultation and work systemically to lead and coordinate interagency responses
  4. Proven ability to work effectively in operational and professional structures including high level interpersonal skills, analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated ability to facilitate change and manage projects for timely completion
  5. Demonstrated high level oral and written documentation communication skills including consultation, negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development, including a sound understanding of quality improvement methods and techniques.
