Are you ready for the challenge to deliver innovative projects for priority populations at risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBV)? This position will collaborate with colleagues across SESLHD Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services and government and non-government organisations. The role will work to develop, implement, and evaluate community-based viral hepatitis and sexual health promotion programs to prevent STIs and blood borne virus infections.


Where you'll be working:

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
 
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
 
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

The Role:

This position is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of HIV, sexually transmissible infection (STI) and viral hepatitis health promotion programs for priority populations as outlined in the District, State and National Strategies.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health promotion or related discipline, or extensive experience in the viral hepatitis and sexual health promotion field.
  2. Demonstrated previous experience in delivering successful HIV/STI/Hepatitis prevention programs demonstrating an understanding of health promotion principles.
  3. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to engage and motivate people in a wide range of settings.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and also ability to work with minimum supervision to deliver agreed outcomes within deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated experience in identifying, negotiating and building effective partnerships with key stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of current developments and priorities in HIV/STI/Hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment and understanding of issues affecting priority populations.
  7. Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel.
