NSW Health Pathology is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Procurement Officer to join the Commercial Team at in St Leonards. This is a part-time role, working four days a week.

We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice systems.

What you'll be doing
  • The Procurement Officer will provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders to plan, source and manage procurement arrangements in line with NSW Health Procurement Policy to effectively meet organisational and business objectives, as well as support both the Procurement Manager and Commercial Manager in complex procurement projects.
  • Act as the Oracle Gatekeeper for NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) in reviewing Oracle requisitions to ensure accuracy and alignment with NSW Health Procurement Policy and financial and standardisation processes.
  • Compile, maintain and manage data analytics and reporting to inform statewide Procurement initiatives and opportunities.  Provide reports, analyses and advice to support procurement decision-making.
  • Drive procurement compliance through promotion and education of the NSW Health Procurement Policy, use of existing contracts and identifying opportunities to reduce spend out of contract.

  1. Experience in procurement and contracts, including relevant qualifications or equivalent.
  2. Demonstrated experience in a procurement environment with an understanding of Oracle (or similar) financial system.
  3. Detailed understanding and application of the principles of responsible financial management in procurement with and an understanding of procurement rules in line with NSW Procurement guidelines.
  4. Proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with customers, staff and stakeholders.
  5. Strong analytical skills to create effective procurement spend, compliance and savings reports, as well as written reports.
  6. Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem solving.
  8. Efficient, effective planning and use of own time in the setting of priorities to achieve set objectives with the resources available and within set time frames. Demonstrated ability to initiate, prioritise, and complete required tasks to meet strict.
