About the opportunity
Bridging construction, health and arts industries, the Health Infrastructure Arts Program is a dynamic, deeply rewarding and innovative program spanning 90+ hospital redevelopments across NSW. Connecting artists with communities to create together capital investment in creative health is part of the solution to enabling a circuit-breaker for intergenerational disadvantage and sustain healthier communities’ long term.
Embedding creative excellence across HI’s portfolio for improved health care experience is core to this role and improving the effectiveness of capital arts integration for operational benefit.
Using HI’s capital portfolio as catalyst, the Principal, Arts Program, leads and manages the HI Arts in Health Infrastructure Program to support the sustainable growth, direction and impact of arts in health care environments. This includes curatorial planning, delivery, commissioning and cultural asset management in redevelopment projects providing subject matter expertise across the NSW Health System, driving interdepartmental partnerships and fostering collaborations across arts, health and construction sectors for patient, workforce and community value.
This is an ongoing permanent position. Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed.
This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing and overseeing all aspects of planning, procuring, delivering and commissioning impactfully curated, multi-disciplinary arts installations, experiences and programs in a health care context. You will have significant experience in the development, negotiation and management of commercial contracts for the procurement of art projects and a detail-oriented approach to project and stakeholder management acumen, to work with initiative, independently and as part of geographically dispersed teams. Importantly, your commitment to project deliverables will be founded in ensuring public value, in the service of NSW communities. You are required to hold relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an Arts, Health or Construction related discipline and or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience in Public Art Commissioning, preferably gained in a large and complex work environment.
