About the Opportunity
We are looking for a nutritionist who is passionate about their work and the community they serve. If you are driven by improving health outcomes for the south west Sydney community and love engaging with a range of stakeholders and establishing partnerships to address public health nutrition issues, this role is a perfect fit. Your strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to engage with diverse communities will be crucial in delivering evidence-based public health nutrition interventions that can make a real difference at a population level.

  

What You'll be Doing
The Population Health Nutritionist will primarily work in the Health & Wellbeing stream and contribute to evidence-based and/or innovative programs of work for population health priorities.

The Population Health Nutritionist will primarily be responsible for collaborating with teams in the Health & Wellbeing stream to:

  • Support the planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting and sustainability of preventative health programs for priority populations related to food environments, healthy eating, and active living.
  • Support clinical and primary care multi-risk factor assessment and referral to preventative health programs.
  • The role will also contribute to work in the Early Years & Ageing stream as required to support projects related to food environments, healthy eating, and active living.

  1. Tertiary Qualifications in Nutrition & Dietetics, eligible for membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination particularly relating to population health nutrition issues.
  3. Understanding of issues that may impact service delivery in priority populations including social disadvantage, Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain partnerships with other staff and government.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
