About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
This role will support consumers across four main areas:
- Developing good physical and mental health.
- Access to housing, employment and education.
- Re-discovering a sense of purpose and personal identity.
- Forming active connections to the community of the consumers' choice.
Child protection – child protection is the core responsibility of all who work in the child and adolescent mental health
service. All staff are required to have detailed knowledge of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child
Protection and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. All clinicians are responsible for ensuring that identified issues are
documented, escalated and action occurs as appropriate.
- Personal experience of mental distress and demonstrated experience using recovery principles. A degree in a relevant field is required for payment at Graduate rate.
- Experience in working collaboratively with individuals and groups including the multidisciplinary team; and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external providers, consumers and carers.
- Excellent computing skills, ability to use Microsoft applications in an office setting.
