This is a wonderful opportunity for a Social Worker/Psychologist to join the busy and dynamic RMER team. This position is part of a new PARVAN team that will be responsible for coordinating and managing referrals to the Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Service (DFVSAS) Safe Wayz and the Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS). 

 

Located on the lands of the Dharawal and Yuin nations.  We are looking for a health clinician who:

 

·         Has a degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or Psychology and full AHPRA registration.

·         Has a minimum of 3 years clinical post-graduation experience working with adults, young people and children with complex trauma, including psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions, risk assessments and safety planning, advocacy, psychoeducation, therapeutic counselling, case management and group work.

·         Has knowledge and understanding of working with individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence.

·         Has knowledge and understanding of working with children who have experienced sexual assault, neglect and/or with children under 10 with problematic and/or harmful sexualised behaviour.

·         Has knowledge and understanding of the impacts of trauma on the brain and body.

·         Understands the impact of colonisation, patriarchy and other social political systems that have impacted Indigenous Australian experience of violence and abuse.

·         Has the ability to provide specialist consultations and build relationships with services who provide primary and secondary services to violence, abuse, and neglect to ensure appropriate referrals are made to PARVAN.
