What you'll be doing
The purpose of this position is to ensure the delivery of an effective, efficient maintenance service for the buildings of the St. George Hospital campus and outer medical service centres.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated painting experience in maintenance of large building complexes and facility maintenance, preferably hospitals, and proven ability to work and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of trade, non-trade, and contract staff to efficiently deliver maintenance services in a busy work environment.
- Able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision while following safe work practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in colour matching systems, preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces for internal/external of buildings, plant, and equipment.
- Experience with the use of compressors, sanders, spray equipment and other powered and non-powered tools and equipment such as scaffolding and ladders.
- Painting trade qualification and knowledge and application of relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and work order systems. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively personally and within a team environment in the workplace.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Work, Health and Safety and preferably hold a current white card Occupational Health and Safety General Induction for Construction in NSW Certificate.
- Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
