Your Role
As a Social Worker with us, you’ll play a critical role in:
- Attending multidisciplinary follow-up clinic appointments, offering psychological support to parents navigating adjustments to diagnoses, chronic disabilities, and developmental delays.
- Supporting families through complex psychosocial issues, including mental health, substance misuse, domestic violence, and child protection.
- Referring families to community support services for ongoing intervention.
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions for inpatient families in the Special Care Nursery (NICU).
- Providing social work cover across various departments, including Emergency, general medical, surgical, and adolescent wards, as needed.
This position requires work on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and alternate Wednesdays (non-negotiable).
What We’re Looking For
We seek a dedicated social worker with:
- Relevant experience or transferable skills working with families and children.
- Advanced communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and situations.
- Experience in person-centred and brief intervention models.
- The ability to work effectively within social work and multidisciplinary teams.
