About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Oral Health Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated Oral Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. This district-wide position offers a unique opportunity to work across a variety of clinical settings and communities, providing care that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.
As an Oral Health Therapist within SWSLHD, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred dental care. This role also includes involvement in outreach programs such as, but not limited to, the Primary School Mobile Dental Program, which provides vital services directly within schools and helps to reduce barriers to care.
An eligibility list may be created and may be used to fill future Oral Health Therapist vacancies across the district, both temporary and permanent.

What You'll be Doing
The primary purpose of this position is to provide evidence based clinical care to patients, within their scope of practice, resulting in the best quality care that public dentistry can achieve.

- Unrestricted Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as an Oral Health Therapist with Adult Scope of practice completed.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency and ability to work under minimal professional supervision and exercising independent judgement on routine clinical matters within scope of practice.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the delivery of high quality dental services within the scope of general dental practice and ability to effectively relate to children/ adults.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and capacity to use an electronic oral health record and patient administrative system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals.
- An understanding of current concepts in clinical practice and demonstrated understanding of infection control principles.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
