This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the role:

Based at Inverell Community Health, this role will see you working within acute and community settings, alongside our dedicated team. You will deliver comprehensive services to both adults and children, with your duties including home modifications, equipment prescriptions, and active involvement in our Child Development Clinic. You'll receive continuous support and training from our Manager and Professional Lead of Occupational Therapy.

Where you’ll be working:

Located on the MacIntyre River, the charming and historic rural town of Inverell is nestled in the heart of gemstone country. Known as Australia's Sapphire City, Inverell is a 7-hour drive from Sydney and less than 5 hours from Brisbane. For those preferring to fly, there are three flights per week to Sydney and four flights per week to Brisbane.

Inverell Hospital is a 52-bed facility providing care to the North Western New England area of NSW. The facility provides services including imaging services, general surgery, GP clinic, paediatrics, emergency, maternity, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology and renal.

About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupation Therapist, who is able to work autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly document treatment plans and progress.

Requirements:

  • Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

  • *Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. All payments made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.   • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
