Provide high quality, evidence-based care at an extended and advanced nursing level to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients including residential aged care, acute care and emergency.

About the Far West LHD

The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to the communities in far west NSW.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible

  • Current authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) as a Nurse Practitioner with equivalent three (3) years full-time experience in and advanced practice nursing role within Remote and Rural Care, within the past six (6) years from the date when the completed application seeking endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner is received by the Board.
  • Successful completion of a Board-approved Nurse Practitioner qualification at Master's level or working towards NMBA endorsement within 3 years.
  • Demonstrated high level of confidence and clinical proficiency in carrying out a range of procedures treatments and interventions that are evidence based and informed by specialist knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to apply extended practice competencies within a scope of practice that is autonomous and collaborative.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically appraise and integrate relevant research findings in decision making about health care management and patient interventions.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage and collaborate with managers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated skills in accessing established and evolving knowledge in clinical and social sciences, and the application of this knowledge to patient care and the education of others.
  • Current NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel with possible overnight stays.
