Mental health services Southwestern Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Manager patient flow to join our senior leadership team. This permanent full-time position offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate patient access and flow initiatives across a complex and fast-paced healthcare environment. Reporting to the Nurse Manager Demand, you will be responsible for driving performance in key areas including Transfer of Care (TOC), Emergency Treatment Performance (ETP), and Length of Stay, while supporting organisation-wide strategies that optimise bed utilisation, inter-hospital transfers, and discharge planning. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, Nurse Unit Managers, and key stakeholders to lead sustainable improvements in operational efficiency, patient safety, and clinical outcomes. You will play a critical role in reducing delays, improving access to care, and enhancing the overall patient experience across the continuum of mental health services. What You'll be Doing
The Nurse Manager participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Please demonstrate your experience in leading and coordinating patient access and flow initiatives, including how you have managed and improved key performance indicators such as Transfer of Care (TOC), Length of stay and discharge by midday, outline how you collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow and bed utilisation, and provide an example of a proactive strategy you implemented to address patient flow challenges and the outcomes achieved.
- Describe a time when you identified a bottleneck in patient flow. What strategies did you implement to address it, and how did you measure the outcomes of the strategy? How did you prioritise competing demands while ensuring patient safety and service targets are met?
