Are you a motivated and organised nursing leader ready to make a hospital-wide impact? Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager Grade 2 – Executive Support to join our senior nursing leadership team and help drive high-quality, safe care across our facility.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing & Support Services, providing strategic and operational support across key areas such as nursing governance, clinical safety, workforce planning, and organisational initiatives.

As a senior member of the nursing leadership team, you will play an integral role in executive decision-making and lead projects that strengthen hospital-wide operations – enhancing both patient outcomes and staff experience.

The Nurse Manager – Executive Support reports directly to the Director of Nursing & Support Services and contributes to the delivery of safe, effective care through strong leadership, oversight of nursing governance, and alignment with both local and state health priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic nursing leadership and executive-level operational support.
  • Implementing and monitoring key nursing initiatives aligned with SESLHD and NSW Health priorities.
  • Driving excellence in clinical governance, patient safety, quality standards and workforce capability.
  • Preparing and presenting executive-level reports, briefings, and project updates.
  • Collaborating across clinical teams and corporate services to achieve integrated patient care outcomes.
  • Representing nursing services on hospital committees, including safety and quality, workforce, and strategic planning groups.

Selection Criteria:
  1. Registered Nurse who holds current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  2. Relevant management tertiary qualification or working towards same, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
  3. Demonstrated experience and competencies in organisational change management and achievements of measurable outcomes
  4. Proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and project management
  5. Sound verbal, written and negotiation skills with an aptitude to utilize relevant information technology platforms
  6. Recent broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health care environment
  7. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in human and financial resource management and delivery of health care services
  8. Demonstrated sound knowledge of current clinical practice, its delivery and models of care
