What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Patient Flow is responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow management within the facility through the coordination and facilitation of patient flow strategies to improve the delivery and timeliness of access to care. This role will ensure optimal patient outcomes by promoting best practice through facility capacity / demand management processes.
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.
The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital. - Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Describe your experience in managing patient flow within a healthcare facility. Can you provide a specific example of a time you successfully improved patient flow and the strategies you implemented?
- This role is part of the Nursing and Midwifery leadership team. Describe your leadership style and provide an example of how you have inspired, motivated, and supported a team to achieve a specific objective related to patient care or operational efficiency.
- Describe a challenging situation you encountered related to patient flow. What steps did you take to address the situation, and what was the outcome? What did you learn from this experience?
- The position emphasizes the importance of data analysis and identifying trends. Describe your experience in utilising data and indicators to assess patient flow, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective changes.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
