About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Midwifery Unit Manager Intrapartum Services is responsible for the day to day operation and coordination of the Intrapartum Services at RPAH. The role also includes responsibility to oversee the management and staffing of the RPAH Women and Babies service after hours. Recent intrapartum experience and management experience is highly desirable. The role includes working across a 7 day rotating roster on a 12 hour shift roster pattern, both day and night shifts.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Extensive post registration experience in a relevant clinical area with clinical management experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
- Proficient problem solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in Performance Development, conflict resolution and quality management programs.
