About us:
The successful candidate will be working within the Clinical Information Department at John Hunter Hospital. You will be working closely with the medicolegal team and the administration team within CID. We are a great, close-knit team with a mix of experience (some have been here under a year, others have been here over 20years) We have monthly birthday morning teas within the office and do often have events outside of work hours such as dinners, Sydney shopping trips, Christmas party, shows/events. We pride ourselves on promoting flexibility within the department and make use of TIL options and flexible work hours for any staff member needing to attend appointments or family commitments during work time,
About the job:
As the medicolegal manager, you will be responding to Release of Information requests from numerous internal and external stakeholders. You will support the medicolegal team and our front desk reception team with medicolegal queries and requests. The day-to-day tasks are varied and may involve liaising with health professionals and patients, compiling patient information from a variety of health systems, analysing and redacting sensitive information from patient medical records, and providing advice on relevant medicolegal policies and legislation The candidate will be supported with one-on-one training by the current Medicolegal Manager and then after the training period, will be supported by the Health Information Service Manager of the department.
About you:
Our medicolegal team here is the central service point for all medicolegal requests across the Hunter New England Local Health District. This is a busy, dynamic and important role within the department, John Hunter Hospital and HNELHD. Ideally the candidate would have excellent organisational skills and proven experience with juggling a high workload effectively. They will have high computer skills and experience with all HNE Health systems and programs and fantastic communication skills, both verbally and written. They will be confident in working independently, whilst upholding HNE Health’s core values.
