Salary range: $145,378 - $168,130 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 

The advertised salary will increase by 3%, effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2025

The Mental Health Commission NSW is inviting applications for the leadership position of Manager System Monitoring. This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing team dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the people of NSW. As Manager, System Monitoring, you will drive statewide system monitoring by leading the development, monitoring and public reporting of mental health and wellbeing outcomes. You will design statewide outcome frameworks aligned with whole-of-government mental health and wellbeing strategies, and suicide prevention plans and provide data-driven insights to inform and inspire meaningful reform across the system. 

 

The Commission is a small agency of around 34 FTE based in the Sydney CBD and working flexibly within hybrid workplace guidelines.

Primary Purpose of the Role 

The primary purpose of the Manager System Monitoring is to lead and manage a team responsible for monitoring, reviewing and publicly reporting on the mental health and wellbeing of the people of NSW. The role develops outcomes frameworks aligned with whole-of-government statewide strategic plans prepared by the Commission and monitors and reports on metrics identified within these outcome frameworks to drive evidence-based reform.

Essential Criteria 

  • Proven and extensive ability to analyse complex mental health, wellbeing and suicide datasets and metrics.
  • Extensive experience in managing teams and developing people, expiring direction and purpose.
  • Strong political acumen and proven ability to communicate (written and oral) effectively, work collaboratively, influence, facilitate and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in preparing concise, well-structured reports and documents.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
