About The Opportunity
SWSLHD is a complex, challenging and rewarding environment where you can make a difference. This role involves providing executive level secretariate and administrative services to support the District’s Board, Chief Executive and executive management teams. The ideal candidate will be a professional who is highly organised, proactive, has a great eye for detail,  is a great communicator and who is a positive influence in the workplace.

Step into a pivotal leadership role that drives excellence at the highest levels. We are seeking a professional to provide executive-level administrative support to the Chief Executive (CE) while shaping the operations of the CE's office.

This is more than a support role—it’s a position of influence and leadership. You will be a trusted advisor, a proactive problem-solver, and a role model for excellence. As someone who embodies positivity and respect, you will set the tone for the entire office, inspiring the Executive Assistants (EAs) and the wider team with your focus on integrity, innovation and achieving results.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional administrative duties. You will draft key documents, oversee critical communications, and provide strategic leadership to the Executive Support Unit (ESU), ensuring that its service remains customer-focused and of the highest standard. Additionally, you will play a vital role in enhancing the Board Chair’s experience—working alongside executives to streamline reporting and optimize board and subcommittee materials.

Innovation is at the heart of this role. We seek a forward-thinker who can identify opportunities to improve efficiency, leverage technology, and enhance processes. You will actively engage with General Manager Units (GMUs) to elevate standards, ensure ministerial submissions are timely, and uphold the highest levels of quality and compassion in all consumer-facing communications.

If you are ready to lead, inspire, and elevate the office of the CE, we want to hear from you. Join us and become an integral force behind a thriving and professionally managed executive team.

This role is a full time permanent position with some after hours work required to attend Board meetings and there are ADO available.

What You'll Be Doing
The Manager Office of the Chief Executive and Board is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective operations by providing high-quality advice, coordinating administrative executive functions, and ensuring all appropriate executive support is provided to the Chief Executive and Board.  This role is essential for supporting the Chief Executive and Board advancing organisational objectives through effective governance, compliance, and management.

Responsibilities include managing the Executive Support Unit (ESU), overseeing correspondence management, and the effective and efficient management of the Office of the Chief Executive. The role acts as the liaison point for external stakeholders such as the Offices of the Minister for Health, Minister for Medical Research, Minister for Mental Health, Ministry of Health Strategic Relations and Communications Branch and other key stakeholders.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital Eastern Campus is an integral part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, focusing on education, research, and specialised healthcare services.

The Eastern Campus houses the Liverpool Education and Research Centre, which includes conference facilities, seminar rooms, and a computer room, providing a hub for medical education and professional development.
