What you'll be doing
This outpatient, laboratory-based role as a Respiratory Function Scientist involves conducting specialised respiratory tests, supporting patient education, and ensuring high standards of equipment care and laboratory practices. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Performing complex respiratory function tests including spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion studies.
- Educating patients on respiratory health and testing procedures.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing laboratory policies and practice manuals.
- Calibrating, preparing and maintaining testing equipment to high hygiene standards.
- Supporting clinical decision-making through accurate test data and reporting.

- Qualification: Scientific degree in relevant area

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in respiratory function testing
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
