An exciting opportunity for an experienced Hepatology Registered Nurse to provide clinical expertise and leadership in the role of Supportive Care Clinical Nurse Consultant. The position is 24hrs per week until June 2027.

Where you'll be working

The CNC will work closely with the hepatology department and the supportive care network to optimise care for patients with End Stage Liver Disease, including advanced liver disease, liver failure, and decompensated cirrhosis. 

What you'll be doing

To provide expert consultancy, services and practice within the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) domains. The CNC will demonstrate leadership in promoting contemporary nursing models of care for patients with End Stage Liver Disease, including advanced liver disease, liver failure, and decompensated cirrhosis. The CNC will work closely with the hepatology department and the supportive care network to optimise care.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. A Registered Nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in Hepatology in an acute hospital environment. Additionally, the applicant must have relevant post registration qualifications (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards a Master’s level qualification in an appropriate speciality.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team using current research and evidence.
  3. Effective organisational, time management, research and computer skills and proven ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases and work towards goals and targets.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to maintain and establish networks across multiple disciplines and within the LHD.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development and quality improvement.
