Where you'll be working:
The Paediatric Physiotherapy Department is located within John Hunter Children’s Hospital. The team is comprised of dedicated and caring Physiotherapists who have an interest in providing excellent therapy services to the Children, Young people and Families of the Hunter New England area via inpatient, outpatient and clinic settings. We work collaboratively with many different services and health care professionals.

About the role:
This opportunity requires a highly skilled physiotherapist with extensive clinical experience in NICU and other paediatric clinical specialty areas. This includes service development, innovation, advanced reasoning and the ability to manage novel and complex paediatric conditions in an acute setting. This position will be responsible for providing clinical support, consultation and education across the HNELHD district in addition to student supervision and mentoring for junior staff.

Support will be provided by the Level 5 Head of Department for Paediatric Physiotherapy, with regular clinical supervision with senior staff and opportunity to participate in all aspects of the Paediatric Physiotherapy department. This includes regular in-service programs, opportunity for upskilling in common paediatric outpatient presentations and support for attendance at external seminars and conferences relevant to the role.

About you:
We are looking for a strong team player who has extensive experience in NICU and other paediatric physiotherapy specialty areas. Many of the speciality teams within the Children’s hospital access experienced and collaborative Physiotherapists who can interface with staff and families to provide patient centred care. Experience in delivering this type of Physiotherapy service is essential to the position.

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
