About the opportunity

Are you a strategic thinker with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for improving public health infrastructure?

We are looking for a Business Case Lead to author and deliver high-quality, evidence-based business cases for capital projects valued at $10 million and above. As this pivotal role sits at the heart of NSW Health Infrastructure Planning, you’ll draw on complex strategy, clinical, financial, and operational data to craft compelling investment narratives that guide major infrastructure decisions.

You'll thrive in this role if you excel in stakeholder engagement and balance policy requirements with competing priorities and resourcing constraints. You’ll work at the centre of a dynamic environment, collaborating across technical disciplines and agencies and navigating competing priorities, which are essential for translating rigorous analysis into actionable recommendations. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact by influencing long-term infrastructure investment that directly benefits patients and communities.

This is a full-time, ongoing position. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.

Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed. This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.

About you

You are an experienced professional skilled in leading the development of business cases for major infrastructure projects, particularly in the health or public sector. With a solid understanding of economic and financial analysis, you confidently interpret modelling outputs and integrate them into compelling narratives supporting investment decisions.

You bring in-depth knowledge of NSW Government business case guidelines and NSW Treasury investment frameworks, and your strong writing skills allow you to create technically sound and engaging documents for various audiences.

You remain calm and effective under pressure, efficiently managing shifting priorities and compressed timelines. You thrive in multidisciplinary settings and are skilled at aligning inputs across clinical service, financial, and infrastructure domains. With a relevant qualification in business, economics, commerce, finance, or project planning, you are ready to shape the next generation of health infrastructure in NSW.
