Applicants must hold a current (Class 1A) NSW Security Industry License, a current First Aid Certificate, a current NSW (unrestricted) Driver’s License and a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). Experience in a security related environment will be highly regarded.

Your Role & Key Responsibilities

· Support the Clinical team, ensuring patient safety and comfort in various settings, including the Emergency Department and wards. (Enjoy the flexibility of a 24/7 rotating roster).

What You'll be Doing

As part of the Security & Patient Services team, Health and Security Assistants (HASA) are integral to providing a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. HASA are also required to assist Clinical staff in the care and comfort of patients, and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

Supporting the Hospital operation is at the heart of the HASA role.  You will provide support in all areas of the Facility in the delivery of patient supervision/care.  You will also provide general assistance in the ward environment, effective patient transfers, and undertake security related duties as directed.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region. 

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care. 

 The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities. 

Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.

  1. Must hold a current Class 1A Security License with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, current First Aid Certificate and must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
  2. This role is required to work a 7 day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, afternoon and night shifts as well as having to work in a morgue environment. Please confirm your availability and your understanding and willingness to undertake work in this environment.
  3. Please provide examples of your demonstrated computer literacy at a data entry level and effective written and oral communication skills.
  4. Please provide examples of your demonstrated flexibility in taking directions from supervisors and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
