  1. Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, social science (with a health promotion major), health education or related field.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of health promotion theory and evidence-based application including needs analysis, project planning, implementation and evaluating health promotion initiatives (particularly relating to relevant issues for young people who are “at risk” or “marginalised”).
  3. Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with young people in community –based settings, particularly with diverse communities and demonstrated experience of the ability to advocate for their needs.
  4. Experience in establishing partnerships with relevant organisations and facilitating collaborative action, including relevance to social justice, harm minimisation and community development.
  5. Demonstrated ability and experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based community education projects, including experience in developing and facilitating group work.
  6. Demonstrated ability to write high level and quality reports and other written communication for a variety of audiences as well as high-level computer literacy.
  7. Demonstrated experience to work independently, as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team across multiple projects with the ability to apply effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  8. Effective organisational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  9. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
