The Opportunity
As a Health & Security Assistant, you'll be a vital part of the team, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Security Duties – Patrols, alarm response, access control, and exceptional customer service
- Patient Interaction – Assist with patient transfers, personal care, and mobility needs
- Infection Control – Perform cleaning duties following infection control protocols
- Manual Handling – Participate in lifting and moving patients safely and respectfully
- Crisis Management – Handle challenging situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism
We’re seeking individuals who are:
- Team-oriented yet confident working independently
- Organised, calm under pressure, and quick to adapt
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional care and service
- Available to work rotating shifts (Essential)
- Licenced with a Class 1A Security Licence – (Essential)
You'll receive full training, including a comprehensive orientation, site-specific induction, and manual handling instruction. Ongoing support is provided through direct supervision and mentorship from the Security Lead at Maitland Hospital. This role also offers valuable experience and a clear pathway for growth in both the healthcare and security sectors.
