About The Opportunity
Primary and Community Health in South Western Sydney Local Heath District are looking for someone who:

  • Would have a passion for Domestic and Family Violence and extensive understanding and experience in conducting safety planning, risk assessments and advocacy with Adults, Young People and Children who have experienced Violence Abuse and Neglect (Domestic and Family Violence).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and advance skills in therapeutic counselling and case management, leadership and supervision of staff.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
  • The position will lead a team of DFV counsellors provide counselling and case management, whilst working in a dynamic management team in Prevention and Response Violence Abuse and Neglect, SWSLHD.
  • Strong commitment to work collaboratively with both Government and Non-government partners.

  1. A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or as otherwise deemed appropriate by employer or  (b) Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).  
  2. Demonstrated extensive experience supervising and leading staff and team performance, in a challenging and demanding work environment.
  3. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process, whilst ensuring Evidence Based Practice (EBP) in service planning and evaluation.
  4. Demonstrated extensive clinical experience working in domestic and family violence, including an understanding of child protection issues in the DFV context and counselling and case management supervision within violence abuse and neglect services.
  5. Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment
