What you'll be doing
The Associate Genetic Counsellor will work within the Hereditary Cancer Centre (HCC), providing genetic counselling and education of clients, triaging of referrals, organisation of clinic, education of health professionals and the community, and promotion of the HCC.
Selection Criteria
- A post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part 1 certification/ Board Eligible to Undertake Certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
- Ability to provide a professional level of service whilst working under professional supervision in the Hereditary Cancer Clinic.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience.
- Demonstrated participation in quality and workplace education, as well as a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with experience with MS Office, databases, presentation and pedigree drawing software.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated commitment, ability to meet deadlines and high standards of performance.
- Knowledge and understanding of the application of evidence based practice to Genetic Counselling.
