This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

What you'll be doing

  • Provide electrical & administration services including; installations, repairs and maintenance to LHD facilities and their infrastructure.
  • Undertake new electrical installation, alteration and corrective and maintenance work on electrical plant and equipment.
  • Perform and/or assist with such other mechanical, carpentry, welding and plumbing work as may be required from time to time.
  • Undertake work duties with plant and equipment repairs at other sites throughout the District as required.
  • Undertake administration of; security, CCTV, rostering, key register, BMS and contractor management systems, PCard and Oracle procurement.
  • Participate in a rotating on call roster as required.

How to apply 
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible
  • Trade qualified Electrician with >6 years post trade experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical plant/equipment and distributions systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn of Australian Standards relating to electrical installations in hospitals, with the ability to acquire new skills & keep up to date with Trade developments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or willingness to learn NSW Health Procurement system, and NSW Health asset management tool AFM Online.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as a member of a team.
  • Experience in scheduling maintenance requests in a commercial environment and providing confidential administration support services to a team.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with department managers and staff.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
