Where you'll be working:
Join a small, dedicated clinical support team within Hunter New England Health, providing care, training, and guidance to clinicians across the District—from Newcastle to Tamworth and beyond. You’ll help improve outcomes for people with eating disorders through collaborative, compassionate, and expert support.

About the role:
In this dynamic position, your week will be a mix of direct clinical care and supportive consultation. You’ll provide targeted, specialised treatment to individuals with eating disorders—whether in hospital settings or the community—working closely with local teams to complement existing care. A key part of your role will also involve building capacity by supporting and educating clinicians across the District, and offering guidance to families and carers involved in the recovery journey.

You’ll be supported every step of the way, with orientation to the role and regular guidance from the HNE Eating Disorders Coordinator. We’re committed to your ongoing growth, providing access to education, training, and professional development to ensure you stay current with best practice and continue to build your expertise in this specialised area.

About you:
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate clinician with experience in providing care to people with mental illness—ideally including those with eating disorders or complex presentations. You’ll be confident in offering clinical guidance and education to other health professionals, and bring strong leadership skills to support collaborative, high-quality care across diverse settings.

Requirements:
  • Must hold a recognised degree in relevant profession (Nursing, Psychology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Counsellor - Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association and/or provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as relevant.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW.
