The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs. 

The purpose of the Duty Operations Manager is to provide day to day operational leadership and management and contribute to the effective management of the Mental Health Service, its people and resources and towards an optimal patient journey through care, and achievement of the Mental Health Service’s Key Performance Targets.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current Registration with AHPRA - Registered Nurse Division 1
  2. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in management or working towards attainment and/or post graduate qualifications in Mental Health
  3. Demonstrated broad clinical and operational management experience at a senior level within a complex health care environment
  4. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, service and professional outcomes
  5. Demonstrated ability for the effective and contemporary utilization of Mental Health Service and nursing resources
  6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills and competent in the use of relevant electronic information systems
  7. Demonstrated effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  8. Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position and service requirements
