Selection Criteria to be addressed:

  1. This is an identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14D of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications (Drug & Alcohol, Aboriginal Health, Allied Health, Nursing) or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience that are deemed to be acceptable by the Drug and Alcohol Service.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of harm minimisation within drug and alcohol treatment services as well as national and NSW Aboriginal health policies and strategic directions.
  4. Highly developed skills and previous experience in developing effective partnerships with key stakeholders including Drug and Alcohol clinicians, Aboriginal leaders and Non-Government Organisations as well as the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and experience in managing staff and providing cultural supervision to staff including the ability to maintain a positive workplace culture.
  6. Demonstrated previous skills and experience in the use of an electronic health record system for clinical documentation and Microsoft software packages (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for writing presentations, project reports and newsletters.
  7. Highly developed skills in both verbal and written communication, project management, managing competing priorities, maintaining attention to detail, developing a timely response to enquiries, and meeting tight deadlines.
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
