About the Opportunity
The Director, Ageing Well in Community is responsible for the operational and strategic management of aged care services delivered within the Primary and Community Health directorate, in conjunction with the SWSLHD Aged Care Clinical Stream.
As the Director, will lead a dedicated team to deliver safe, high-quality and person-centred care to older people living in the community. This role requires a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who can drive innovation, ensure compliance, and foster strong partnerships across the health and aged care sectors.
About You
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in leading the delivery of aged care and or rehabilitation services within the community context
- In-depth knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth aged care legislation and regulatory standards
- Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills.
- Extensive experience in HR practices, including recruitment and performance management
What You'll be Doing
The Director, Ageing Well in Community, is responsible for the operational and strategic management of services delivered within the Primary & Community Health Directorate in conjunction with the District Aged Care Clinical Stream.
The Director, Ageing Well in Community works in partnership with key stakeholders including the facilities and other Clinical Streams for the planning and delivery of Aged Care services across the District.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.
With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in management within the delivery of Aged Care and or Rehabilitation services within the community context.
- Extensive experience and a high level of understanding of Australian Government, NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Health policies and programs for promoting wellness and in home support for older people.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated capacity to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in the management and supervision of senior health staff.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and managing complex projects and ability to identify and report against relevant performance measures, including key performance indicators, operational/financial and other indicators, through the development of systems to capture data.
- Experience in managing and leading teams with demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources effectively and efficiently to ensure budget and performance targets are met; and capability to develop an effective culture of engagement and capacity development.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
