About the Opportunity
This is a new exciting position within the new established renal transplant service at Liverpool Hospital. This position suits someone who has advanced clinical dietetics experience in renal medicine and service development. The successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary team and also the Liverpool Dietetics team.  In addition to provide direct patient care, the Renal Transplant Dietitian will also responsible for other senior duties, such as research, quality improvement, service development, staff and student supervision. We are looking for someone who is motivated and self-directed, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated passion and expertise in renal medicine.

What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient centered and high quality nutrition services to clients in Liverpool Hospital, including applying high level clinical skills to patients as per caseload/clinical specialty; supervising students and dietitians as appropriate; and participating in ongoing professional development.
 
The position will also provide leadership in quality improvement, service development and evaluation, and support educational activities related to their clinical expertise.

The position supports the head of department with advice on clinical service development, practice and redesign in response to demand and client needs as per caseload/clinical specialty; and advocates across the local health district.

  

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
