Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Dental Specialist to join our team at Sydney Dental Hospital.
We are looking for a Head of Orthodontics! The Head of the Department of Orthodontics has responsibility for management of specialist Restorative Dentistry services (encompassing specialist Orthodontics) for Sydney Local Health District Oral Health Services. These services are operated as per the Ministry of Health List Management protocols and Specialist Referral Guidelines.
The Department Head will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote evidence-based practice and innovation for excellence in care and continuous improvement. As clinical leader, they will enhance clinical engagement and professional practice and standards, as well as a culture of respect for the individual, teamwork and continuous performance improvement.
In addition the Head of the Department of Orthodontics will also undertake patient care duties in the Department, providing high quality specialist dental care and services for patients of Sydney Dental Hospital.
Sydney Dental Hospital (SDH) is one of the two tertiary referral centres in Dentistry in New South Wales. It is a leading clinical facility providing quality and safe, preventively oriented dental treatments and oral health promotion activities in the community.
Whilst being the first established dental hospital in Australasia in 1904, SDH has the most modern, evidence-based approach to clinical service provision. Patients referred to SDH receive all levels of care including emergency, routine and speciality care. The longstanding partnership between SDH and the University of Sydney continues to see undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Dentistry receive practical training to develop their professional skills and expertise. SDH has a research rich culture and contributes publications to peer reviewed journals across the world.
