This vacancy is for Permanent Full Time and/or Part Time positions.
In addition to your base salary, you will receive the Dental Officer Rural Incentive Scheme (DORIS) allowance of up to $20,000 per annum. This position also qualifies for the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme of up to $10,000

What you'll be doing

To provide high quality, safe and comprehensive oral assessment and clinical care to eligible patients within the Mid North Coast Local Health District in accordance with NSW Health Policy.

Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).

This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS.

  1. Registration with the Dental Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a minimum 2 years’ clinical experience and successful completion of the Dental Officers Skills Assessment set by the Centre for Oral Health Strategy as defined under the award.
  2. Demonstrated competency, skills and knowledge in clinical practice and the ability to provide comprehensive treatment to a wide spectrum of patients requiring a diverse range of clinical needs, including provision of dental services under general anaesthesia, and an understanding and commitment to preventative health approach to patient care.
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, computer skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of current dental infection control standards, policies and procedures.
  5. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters with sound clinical reasoning and supervise clinical duties of Dental Therapists and Dental Assistants, at the required level of competency.
  6. Demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development, with willingness to participate in quality improvement activities and participate in clinical research activities as required
  8. Current driver’s license, and willingness to travel and work in various locations within the network.
