About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals.  RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
 
The Clinical Psychologist provides psychological services to patients referred to the multidisciplinary pain management programme including psychological assessment and treatment of patients with chronic pain and their families. Implicit in this is the delivery and evaluation of the group Pain Management Programmes.

Ideal Candidate

  • A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD).
  • Current registration with AHPRA to practice as a psychologist, endorsement in clinical psychology and eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
  • Ability to administer psychological tests, perform functional/behavioural assessments, interpret the data, and prepare independent professional reports.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with a diverse range of patients.
  • Experience working with people with chronic pain.
