We are looking for a health care professional with:

  • Current unrestricted authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications in Primary Care OR Emergency Care OR Chronic and Complex Care.
  • At least 3 years’ full time Nursing experience working in the clinical area of Primary Care OR Emergency Care OR Chronic and Complex Care.

Note: Consideration will be given on a case-by-case basis to applicants with qualifications and/or equivalent work experience in adjacent clinical areas.

 

The Role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 (CNS2), Primary Care will deliver care to adult patients who suffer from acute or chronic illnesses in the custodial setting. This position is required to interface effectively with staff, managers and other service providers within Justice Health NSW, Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) custodial and program staff and external service providers.

The position holder will work within Justice Health NSW and NSW Health policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as CSNSW rules and regulations as set out in the relevant legislation. The position provides support to Justice Health NSW clinicians to assist with the continuity of care, case management, transfer of care into the community, post release follow-up as required for patients and responsibility and accountability for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of primary care services, including the co-ordination and monitoring of service provision.

Junee Correctional Centre is a mixed-security correctional centre for male offenders, situated just a few minutes from the town centre.
